I'm working on a new kit for late May release. I draw all of my graphics using Illustrator. Here's a little sneak peek of some of my drawings for my next kit. This is what they look like mid-process, before I color them. Any have a suggestion for a kit name?

Photoshop Global Light Settings Tip

Hi!! I hope you all had a fantastic iNSD! I am working on drawings for a new kit for release later in May and I’ll be back shortly with a little sneak peek and a give away contest!!

Today while I was working, Photoshop crashed on me. When I restarted I realized that my preference settings had reset to default. Most of the default settings are just fine for me, but I have a few modifications to Photoshop that make the program more workable for my purposes. One of the modified settings I love the most is the default global light setting. Did you know you can change your global light angle default setting for new documents?

My personal preference for shadows is not the default 120 degree angle. I usually change my shadow angle to match (as closely as possible) the angle of the bevels and inner shadows that the designer chose when designing  kit I’m scrapbooking with. When scrapping with my own kits, I prefer to use a 135 degree angle and since I most often scrap with my own products, I set my global light settings to default at 135 degrees for all new documents. This is a very simple and quick change that you can make to your own settings if you have a preferred shadow angle as well!

Start by opening up Photoshop. Make sure that there are no documents open. Click on Layer, and select Global Light…



Next, in the Angle: box, type the angle you wish to have as your default global light setting for new documents. Click OK.



Now whenever you open a new document, the default will be your preferred shadow angle.

Technogeek Elements (Second Try) & Another Freebie!

I have to apologize for some confusion with my Technogeek Elements that I posted to my email subscribers yesterday. I made an error with the feed and I’m still not quite sure what I did wrong, but I’ve been receiving emails and messages from people who did not receive the email. This is totally due to my own lack of Feedburner technical knowledge and I hope you'll accept my apology!

Since I still haven’t quite figured out how to work the feed correctly (and I’m currently investigating a new service) I have decided that it would just be best to post the elements on my blog for 24 hours so that all of you who missed them will have a chance to pick them up. The elements will be available for free download through Sunday, Noon, EST.
